Making a Call
The Number Dialer in Suprata allows users to make outgoing calls directly through the platform, ensuring seamless communication and maintaining professionalism. The dialer supports both standard phone numbers and SIP endpoints, providing flexibility for users whether they are in the office or on the go. The Connect To field lets you specify where the system should first connect the call, such as your personal cell phone, office phone, or a SIP address using the format sip:[extension]@[domain] (e.g., sip:1011@pbx.myorg.com). This feature enables users to mask their personal numbers with the business's phone number, ensuring a consistent professional image. The Number Dialer is particularly valuable for field staff, as it allows them to use personal devices for business calls without exposing private information, making it an essential tool for streamlined and secure business communication.
Prerequisites: Authorised Users.
Instructions
- Click on the phone icon in the notification bar.
- You will see the number dialler.
- In the Outgoing Call field on the left side, enter the phone number you want to call. You may use the keypad or directly type into the Outgoing Call field, using your keyboard.
- In the Connect To field, you have two options:
Predefined Options: If your user profile has phone numbers (e.g., personal cell, work landline) or SIP endpoints (e.g., VoIP device, softphone app) saved, these will appear in the dropdown menu. You can select one of these to connect the call.
Custom Number: If you want to use a number that is not saved in your profile, you can enter it manually in the blank field. For example: Enter a phone number (e.g., your cell phone) to have the system call that number first before connecting to the outgoing number.
To use a SIP endpoint, prefix it with SIP: For example, sip:1011@pbx.myorg.com. - Alternatively you can dial a number by clicking on any saved number on the Suprata platform, for example through a customer account page.
