Payroll Settings

The Payroll Settings page allows administrators to customize key payroll parameters to match their organization's requirements. From defining the payroll cutoff time for shifts extending past midnight to specifying the payroll period start day and cycle duration, this section ensures precise payroll management. Additional configurations, such as setting overtime hours and rounding work clock times, streamline calculations and improve accuracy, making it easier to track employee hours and compensation.

Prerequisites: Account owners and those with administrator access.

Instructions

  1. From the main Dashboard, click the Administration tab.

  2. You will enter the Administration Dashboard.

  3. Click on Payroll.

  4. Click Payroll Settings to enter the page.

  5. Edit fields as required:

Payroll Cutoff Time: Defines the time at which payroll calculations stop for a given day. This is especially useful for businesses with shifts that go past midnight. For example, setting a cutoff at 4:00 AM ensures that late-night shifts are included in the appropriate day.

Payroll Period Start: Specifies the day of the week when the payroll period begins. For example, selecting "Sunday" means the payroll calculation for a new period will start on Sunday each week.

Payroll Overtime Hours: Indicates the number of hours an employee can work during a payroll period before overtime is calculated. For example, if set to 40 hours, any hours worked beyond 40 will be marked as overtime.

Payroll Period: Sets the total number of days in a payroll cycle. For instance, setting it to 7 ensures that payroll calculations cover a 7-day period.

Work Clock Rounding: Determines the rounding interval (in minutes) for work hours. For example, if set to 15 minutes, clock-in and clock-out times will round to the nearest quarter-hour for payroll calculations.

  6. Once complete, click Save Changes.

  7. A green confirmation banner will appear at the top of the page confirming “Settings Saved”.
